Committee for Enterprise, Trade and Investment Meeting - 10 February 2015
The Committee for Enterprise, Trade and Investment met on Tuesday 10 February 2015 at 10.00am in Room 29, Parliament Buildings, when the Committee was briefed by Mrs Arlene Foster MLA Minister of Enterprise Trade and Investment, on the Budget 2014-15 and other issues. The Committee was also briefed by its specialist advisor on the economic challenges and opportunities in a different tax environment.
The Committee then scrutinised the Insolvency (Amendment) Bill and consider the Inquiry into Economic Growth and Job Creation in a Reduced Tax Environment. The Committee considered the proposals on the alignment of Health and Safety Regulations with the EU direct acting Classification, Labelling and Packaging Regulation.
The Committee also considered written briefings from the Northern Ireland Independent Retail Trade Association (NIIRTA) on the policy priorities for the Local Economic Development Report; the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment on the response to Committee Pre-Legislative Scrutiny of the Credit Unions and Industrial and Provident Societies Bill and the Committee for the Office of the First Minister and deputy First Minister on the European Commission Work Programme 2015.
