The Northern Ireland Assembly examines what the Northern Ireland Executive (the Government) is doing, makes new laws on devolved matters and debates the issues of the day.

Office of the Speaker

Edwin Poots MLA is the Speaker of the Assembly and in addition to chairing Assembly debates, he is Chair of the Assembly Commission and represents the Assembly at home and abroad.
