The Assembly is in recess from 13 December 2025.
The Committee for the Economy will meet again on 14 January 2026 at 10:00am in Room 30 Parliament Buildings.
The Committee will consider evidence from the Department on the feedback to its consultation on the RHI closure regulations.
The Committee will also consider the Department’s December Monitoring Round allocations.

RHI (Closure of Non-Domestic Scheme) Bill
The RHI (Closure of Non-Domestic Scheme) Bill was formally introduced by the Minister of Economy on 6 October 2025. The Bill completed its Second Stage on 20 October 2025.
As part of the Assembly’s legislative processes, the RHI (Closure of Non-Domestic Scheme) Bill was referred to the Committee for the Economy so that the Committee can consider and take evidence on the Bill and report its opinion to the Assembly.
In order to inform the Committee Stage of the Bill and to help with the development of any necessary amendments, the Committee sought views from stakeholders on the objectives, proposals and potential consequences of the Bill.
The deadline for submissions was noon on 1 December 2025.
The Committee will now consider the evidence received and will continue with its scrutiny of the Bill.
Insolvency (Amendment) Bill
The Insolvency (Amendment) Bill was formally introduced by the Minister of Economy on 23 June 2025. The Bill completed its Second Stage on 1 July 2025.
As part of the Assembly’s legislative processes, the Insolvency (Amendment) Bill was referred to the Committee for the Economy so that the Committee could consider and take evidence on the Bill and report its opinion to the Assembly.
In order to inform the Committee Stage of the Bill and to help with the development of any necessary amendments, the Committee sought views from stakeholders on the objectives, proposals and potential consequences of the Bill.
The deadline for submissions expired on 30 September 2025.
The Committee is now considering the evidence received and will continue with its scrutiny of the Bill.
