The next meeting of the Committee for Health is scheduled for Thursday 18 September 2025. The Department will brief the Committee on Caleb's Cause NI. Members will also receive a briefing from the Department of Health on the Inquiries Implementation Programme Management Board. The meeting will be broadcast live on the NI Assembly website from 2pm.

Adult Protection Bill - Have your say!

The Adult Protection Bill was formally introduced by the Minister of Health on Tuesday 17 June 2025. The Bill completed its Second Stage on Monday 30 June 2025 and is now referred to the Committee for Health for the Committee Stage of the Bill.

As part of the Committee Stage, the Committee is seeking views from stakeholders on the objectives, proposals and potential consequences of the Bill and would welcome your views and comments on its contents.

The closing date for comments is Friday 26 September 2025.

Committee Inquiry: Access to Palliative Care Services

The Committee is undertaking an inquiry into accessing palliative care services in Northern Ireland.

As part of the inquiry the Commitee gathered the views of those patients and their families, healthcare organisations and professionals on their experience of accessing palliative care across Northern Ireland.

The Committee has concluded its inquiry sessions and is now compiling the evidence gathered.
