I am writing to confirm that the Northern Ireland Assembly Commission (Assembly Commission) has processed your request dated 11 and 12 June 2026 in line with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA). In your request on 11 June 2026, you asked:

“…This is a follow-up to the FOI response ref no FOI 18-26.

The minutes of a meeting of the Assembly Commission in July 2021 read:

‘Mrs Hogg updated Members on electric vehicle charge points within the Stormont Estate and advised that the Secretariat Management Group had already agreed an action in the Assembly Commission’s Environmental Continuous Improvement Plan for 2021-22, to liaise with colleagues in the Stormont Estate Management Unit to assess the feasibility of providing further electric vehicle charging points in the Lower East car park.

"Action: Speaker to issue a response to Ms Ennis.’

Therefore please disclose a copy of the following:

1.    The Assembly Commission’s Environmental Continuous Improvement Plan for 2021-22.

2.    Any other Environmental Continuous Improvement Plans for any of the years from 2014-15 to present inclusive.

3.    The response issued by the Speaker to Sinead Ennis MLA as described above.

4.    A record of any notes taken by officials (redacted where appropriate if necessary) in relation to the above discussion on EV chargers.

On 12 June 2026 you wrote to us again asking further questions on the same subject. We have combined these questions with your previous correspondence from 11 June 2026 and are answering both as one request, with the numbering of your requests for information adjusted accordingly. On 12 June 2026, you asked: 

“…The minutes of a meeting of the Assembly Commission in October 2024 read:

Mrs Hogg advised that officials had provided updates on matters raised in relation to Parliament Buildings ... electric charging points..."

1. The Assembly Commission’s Environmental Continuous Improvement Plan for 2021-22.

The Assembly Commission’s Environmental Continuous Improvement Plans for the period 2016 through to 2027 are attached at Appendix A. 

2. Any other Environmental Continuous Improvement Plans for any of the years from 2014-15 to present inclusive.

The Assembly Commission’s Environmental Continuous Improvement Plans for the period 2016 through to 2027 are attached at Appendix A.  No plan existed prior to 2016.

3. The response issued by the Speaker to Sinead Ennis MLA as described above.

4. A record of any notes taken by officials (redacted where appropriate if necessary) in relation to the above discussion on EV chargers.
