I am writing to confirm that the Northern Ireland Assembly Commission (Assembly Commission) has processed your request dated 10 October 2025 in line with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA). Your request was as follows—
“I’m writing in relation to the current competition for Deputy Head of Ushering Services. Can you please advise on the following which I am asking under FOI:
- How many applicants applied for the role?
- How many applicants are currently employees of the NI Assembly?
- How many applicants were shortlisted for interview?”
- How many of these shortlisted applicants are currently employees of the NI Assembly?”
Our response
The Assembly Commission holds information in relation to your request.
Question 1
Thirty-one applicants applied for the position of Deputy Head of Usher Services.
Question 2
Three of the thirty-one applicants are currently employed by the Assembly Commission.
Question 3
Following a sift, twelve applicants were invited to interview.
Question 4
One of the twelve applicants invited to interview is currently employed by the Assembly Commission.
