Assembly Committee Suspends Investigation

The Standards and Privileges Committee today agreed that the investigation it had initiated into the conduct of Mrs Iris Robinson and Mr Peter Robinson MLA should be suspended.

A spokesman for the Committee said: “The Committee has been advised that the PSNI is to investigate matters arising from the BBC Spotlight Programme. The Committee has therefore agreed that the Assembly Commissioner for Standards should suspend his investigation until the outcome of the PSNI investigation is known”.
