Northern Ireland Assembly Register of Experts

The Northern Ireland Assembly’s Research and Information Service (RaISE) is compiling a register of research experts to provide impartial advice and expertise to Assembly Committees on a wide range of Policy/Subject Areas.

Members of this register may be contracted on a temporary, short term basis as policy experts to Committees and will be expected to prepare both oral and written briefings on subjects within their particular policy area(s).

In the event of there being more than one research expert suitable for the required work, the relevant Committee will be provided with expert details from which to make the most appropriate appointment.

The nature of the Assembly requirements is such that experts are likely to be appointed for short periods and large exercises are unlikely.

Persons wishing to register are advised that remuneration is limited to a per diem rate of £200 (plus expenses).

Registration process

Those wishing to be included on the register should forward their details, including a comprehensive list of their area(s) of expertise to the Northern Ireland Assembly using the research register form - or you can contact the Assembly’s Research and Information Service on 028 9041 8320 for further information.

Further information on the policy areas is available here.
