UK Statutory Instruments
UK Government Ministers can use the powers in the EU (Withdrawal) Act 2018, as amended by the European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Act 2020, to make Statutory Instruments (SIs) that relate to Northern Ireland, but are not subject to Assembly proceedings. SIs are scrutinised by the House of Commons and the House of Lords at Westminster. Information on the procedure for scrutiny at Westminster can be found here.
