The Deputy Chairperson, Kellie Armstrong, assumed the Chair. The meeting began at 9.09 am in public session. The following Members were present at the start of the public session: Kellie Armstrong (Deputy Chair), Andy Allen, Ciara Ferguson, Aisling Reilly, Áine Murphy and Stephen Dunne.

There was no Chairperson’s Business.
3. Draft Minutes
Agreed: The Committee agreed the minutes of the meeting held on Tuesday 1 February 2022.
4. Departmental briefing on Support for Mortgage Interest etc. (Security for Loans) Bill
The Chairperson welcomed the following Departmental Officials to the meeting:
- Una McConnell
- Hayley Ward
The Chairperson informed Members that this was a final opportunity to raise issues or ask for clarification before the Clause by Clause Consideration of the Support for Mortgage Interest etc. (Security for Loans) Bill later in the meeting.
The Officials briefed the Committee and participated in a question and answer session with Members.
Clause 1: Security for Loans for Mortgage Interest
No further queries were raised in relation to Clause 1.
Clause 2: Commencement and Short Title
No queries were raised in relation to Clause 2.
The Chairperson thanked the Officials for their attendance.
The meeting went into closed session at 9.22 am to allow Members to discuss the Bill before the Clause by Clause stage.
The meeting went into public session at 9.25 am.
5. Clause by Clause Consideration of the Support for Mortgage Interest etc. (Security for Loans) Bill
Clause 1: Security for Loans for Mortgage Interest
Agreed: The Committee was content with Clause 1 as drafted.
Clause 2: Commencement and Short Title
Agreed: The Committee was content with Clause 2 as drafted.
Long Title
Agreed: The Committee was content with the Long Title as drafted.
6. Date, Time and Location of next meeting
The next meeting will be held on Thursday 10 February 2022 at 9.00 am in room 29, Parliament Buildings.
The meeting was adjourned at 9.27 am.
