The meeting began in open session at 9.00 am. The Deputy Chairperson, Kellie Armstrong, assumed the Chair. The following Members were present at the start of the open session: Kellie Armstrong, Andy Allen, Stephen Dunne, Paula Bradley.
1. Apologies

2. Briefing by Housing Rights on the Private Tenancies Bill
Áine Murphy joined the meeting at 9.01am.
Mark Durkan joined the meeting at 9.03am.
Paul Frew joined the meeting at 9.04am.
Andy Allen declared an interest as a private landlord.
Paul Frew declared an interest as a private landlord and as a qualified electrician.

The representatives briefed the Committee and took part in a question and answer session with Members.

3. Briefing by Renters’ Voice on the Private Tenancies Bill
The following representatives joined the meeting:

The representatives briefed the Committee and took part in a question and answer session with Members.
The Chairperson thanked the representatives for their attendance.
Stephen Dunne left the meeting at 9.40am.
Andy Allen left the meeting at 09.53am.
4. Briefing by The Chartered Institute of Housing on the Private Tenancies Bill
The following representatives joined the meeting:

The representatives briefed the Committee and took part in a question and answer session with Members.
The Chairperson thanked the representatives for their attendance.
Agreed: The Committee agreed to write to the Chartered Institute for Housing to request the content of their training materials for private landlords.

The next meeting will be held on Thursday 4 November 2021 in Room 29, Parliament Buildings, at 9.00 am.
