I am writing to confirm that the Northern Ireland Assembly Commission (Assembly Commission) has processed your request dated 7 May 2025 in line with the Freedom of Information Act 2000. In your request, you asked:

"I'm writing to make a Freedom of Information Request as it's of public interest.

I'm interested in knowing the total financial amount Action Mental Health received from the government as part of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund between April 2022 and April 2025, which was intended to be used for the SkillSET project."

Our response

The Assembly Commission holds some information in relation to your request.

The Shared Prosperity Fund has been designed and delivered directly by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) as a replacement for European Social Fund and European Regional Development Fund.

Action Mental Health was the lead applicant in bids to the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, intended to be used for the SkillSET project, which resulted in a total funding offer of £12,048,217 over the 22/23-24/25 financial years.

However it is not known what funding has been received by this organisation or remains unclaimed as these funds are delivered and managed directly by MHCLG.
