The Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs, Mr Edwin Poots, made a statement regarding a draft Environment Strategy, following which he replied to questions.

3. Committee Business

3.1 Motion: Report on the outcome of the independent Review of the adequacy and effectiveness of the Statement of Entitlements for an Official Opposition at the Northern Ireland Assembly

Proposed:

That this Assembly notes the Report of the Assembly and Executive Review Committee on the outcome of the independent Review of the adequacy and effectiveness of the Statement of
Entitlements for an Official Opposition (NIA 137/17-22); further notes that this addresses the applicable recommendation in paragraph 3.7 of Annex C of New Decade, New Approach; and calls on the Assembly to approve the Committee's recommendations contained in the Report.

Mr John Blair introduced a Bill to prohibit hunting wild mammals with dogs; to prohibit trail hunting; to prohibit terrier work; and for connected purposes.

The Hunting of Wild Mammals Bill (NIA Bill 43/17-22) passed First Stage and was ordered to be printed.

6.2 Second Stage: Period Products (Free Provision) Bill (NIA Bill 39/17-22)

Mr Pat Catney moved Second Stage of the Period Products (Free Provision) Bill (NIA Bill 39/17-22).

Debate ensued.
