Men's Shed Ballymoney Visit

On Thursday 25 June 2026, Members of the Health Committee visited the Men's Shed in Ballymoney to learn more about the valuable role Men's Sheds play in supporting health and wellbeing within local communities.

During the visit, Members heard about the wide range of activities and support available, including exercise, mental health support, workshops, social engagement and wellbeing advice. The visit also provided an opportunity to see first-hand how the work of Men's Sheds complements the Department of Health's Neighbourhood Care Model.

Philip McGuigan MLA, Chair of the Health Committee, said:

"I would like to thank everyone from the Men's Shed in Ballymoney who took the time to meet with us during our visit, and especially Ron for facilitating the trip. It was a valuable opportunity for Members to see first-hand the excellent work Men's Sheds are doing to support health and wellbeing in local communities, and the positive impact they have in helping people stay connected, active and supported."
