The re-classification of Housing Associations in England – implications for Northern Ireland

Synopsis: In October 2015, the Office for National Statistics announced that registered housing associations in England would be reclassified from Private Non-Financial Corporations to Public Non-Financial Corporations for the purposes of the UK National Accounts. This paper provides an overview of the ONS decision on reclassification and its potential implications for Northern Ireland.
