Examining Best Practice in Road Safety Management

Synopsis: The purpose of this paper is to examine recent road safety policy interventions and wider environmental factors. It follows a recent RaISe publication on trends in road traffic collisions (NIAR 58-16). This paper will also provide an overview of approaches taken to road safety management in Sweden, the Netherlands and Denmark, which like the UK, are among world leaders in road safety.
