Proposed New EU Act
This law is a proposed new EU act. The EU has indicated that considers it to be within the scope of the Windsor Framework, and therefore may seek to add it to the Framework via Article 13(4). The DSC heard evidence from departmental officials on 3 October 2024. It agreed to monitor the proposal as it progresses through the EU legislative system.
Following the provisional agreement between the Council of the EU and European Parliament on the proposal, the DSC requested a revised assessment of impact. It also agreed to consult stakeholders on the provisionally agreed text.
The DSC is seeking views on its potential impact - take part in the online survey which closes on 1 March 2026. |
