APN 496/22-27 re. NSMC Education Sectoral Meeting, APG on STEM, and APG on Early Education and Childcare
NORTH SOUTH MINISTERIAL COUNCIL SPECIAL EU PROGRAMMES BODY (SEUPB) SECTORAL MEETING
The Speaker received notification from the Executive, in accordance with section 52A (1) of the Northern Ireland Act 1998 (as amended), that a North South Ministerial Council NSMC Education Sectoral meeting will be held on 23 January 2026 at the Monaghan Peace Campus.
Minister Givan and Minister O'Dowd will be in attendance.
The agenda for the meeting is attached at Appendix A
ALL-PARTY GROUP ON SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATHEMATICS
A meeting of the All-Party Group on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) will take place on Thurs 19 February, Room 115 , 16:30 to 18:00 , tea and coffee available from 16:00
We are pleased to welcome colleagues from the Campaign for Science and Engineering (CaSE) to discuss their recent work on public attitudes to R&D. The group will also discuss key issues facing the STEM sector in Northern Ireland.
All Members are welcome to attend. The APG on STEM is currently seeking further MLAs to join the group and help drive the sectors potential in NI – please get in contact if you would like to hear more information.

ALL-PARTY GROUP ON EARLY EDUCATION AND CHILDCARE
A meeting of the All-Party Group (APG) on Early Education and Childcare has been arranged to take place on Monday 2nd February at 1:00 – 2:00pm in the Senate Chamber , Parliament Buildings.
The APG is pleased to welcome Paul Givan MLA, Minister for Education who will provide an update on the Draft Executive Early Learning and Childcare Strategy, currently open for consultation.
This will be followed by a discussion and questions.
