An Assembly report, published today by the Public Accounts Committee, has found that the Education Welfare Service (EWS) is not on top of the problem of non-attendance at school.

More Must Be Done to Tackle Agricultural Crime, Says Committee

The Committee for Agriculture and Rural Development has today acknowledged the work of the PSNI in tackling agricultural crime and has called for the level of focus on this issue to be sustained. Today’s call follows a briefing to the Committee from the PSNI on farming and rural crime, which included an update on rural crime statistics and the work of the PSNI’s Rural Crime Unit.

Assembly Marks Five Years of Bursary Programme

The Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly, Mr William Hay MLA today hosted a reception in Parliament Buildings to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Assembly’s Bursary programme. Organised in conjunction with Queen’s University, the post-graduate programme leads to a Masters in Legislative Studies and Practice and has provided 33 bursaries since its launch five years ago.
