The meeting commenced at 12.53 pm in public session.

The Deputy Chairperson, Pam Cameron MLA took the chair.

1. Apologies

As above.

The Deputy Chairperson informed the Committee that, under Standing Order 115 (6), the Chairperson, Colm Gildernew MLA had delegated authority to Órlaithí Flynn MLA to vote on his behalf at the meeting.

2. Neurology – briefing from the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA)

The following officials from RQIA joined the meeting by video-conference at 12.53 am:

• Briege Donaghy, Chief Executive;
• Emer Hopkins, Interim Director of Improvement; and
• Dr Leanne Morgan, Clinical Lead.

The officials provided the Committee with an update on the expert review of records of deceased patients of Dr Watt and other reviews.

A question and answer session followed.

The Deputy Chairperson thanked the officials for their attendance.

The briefing session was reported by Hansard.

3. Date, Time and Place of the next meeting

The next meeting of the Committee for Health was scheduled to take place at 9.00 am on Thursday, 11 November 2021.

The meeting was adjourned at 1.53 pm.
