Devolution of Air Passenger Duty
The Assembly Finance & Personnel Committee is currently scrutinizing the proposals for a Legislative Consent Motion (LCM) on the UK Finance (No.4) Bill 2012 regarding the devolution of NI Air Passenger Duty for direct long-haul flights.
The Committee has agreed to invite written evidence from stakeholders to inform its position, which will subsequently be reported to the wider Assembly in advance of a plenary debate on the LCM.
Evidence is invited in particular from those stakeholders who made submissions in the HM Treasury/HMRC consultation on the Reform of Air Passenger Duty and the Northern Ireland Affairs Committee Report on Air Passenger Duty: Implications for Northern Ireland. However, other stakeholders are also welcome to make written responses.
Stakeholder responses should focus on the relevant legislative provisions in the UK Finance Bill (No.4) 2012 relating to the devolution of Air Passenger Duty to Northern Ireland for direct long-haul flights.
The deadline for written responses passed on Friday 13 April 2012.
