7 December 2007

Dear Una

UK Climate Change Bill

At its meeting on 6 December 2007, the Committee for the Environment considered the letter from the Minister, Arlene Foster, dated 15 November 2007, relating to the UK Climate Change Bill and the wording of the legislative consent motion to be brought to the Assembly on week commencing 10 December 2007.

The Members have agreed the following:

The Committee is content in principle for Westminster to legislate in the area concerned as opposed to agreeing the specific devolved provisions in the current version of the Bill with or without qualifications.

Yours Sincerely

William Long
