Draft UK Marine Bill

At its meeting on 31 January the Committee was briefed by Departmental officials and the Northern Ireland Marine Task Force on the proposals for the development of new policies and legislation relating to the marine environment in Northern Ireland.

The Committee further considered the draft UK Marine Bill at its meeting on 20 May 2008 when Departmental officials again briefed members.

The Committee decided that it had broad support for the principles of the Bill and look forward to further briefings from officials as work on the Bill progresses.
