Health Committee to be updated on IT issues at Southern Trust from Dept of Health and SHSCT Officals

Following IT issues at the SHSCT (Southern Health and Social Care Trust) on 17 September which caused widespread disruption to patients, the Assembly’s Health Committee will hear from Dept of Health and SHSCT officials at this week’s Committee meeting.

The Committee have asked for a briefing on what solutions are being put in place, the impact the issues have had on patients and the resilience of the other Trusts’ IT systems.

The Committee will also be given an update on waiting lists (including paediatric outpatient waiting times) from Department of Health officials.
