Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs Committee to Receive Briefing on the Independent Panel on Review of Decisions

At its next meeting on Thursday, 11 February 2021, the Assembly Committee for Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs will receive a briefing from stakeholders, Mr Brian Little, Voluntary Advisor and Mr James O’Brien, Barrister at Law, on the Independent Panel for Review of Decisions for applicants to area based schemes. 

Following a number of concerns raised by stakeholders, the Committee has agreed to examine this issue. The Committee has previously taken evidence (on 28 January 2021) from Departmental officials and will receive subsequent briefings on 11 March 2021 from the Northern Ireland Agricultural Producers' Association and the Agricultural Consultants Association NI. The Committee will also be considering written evidence from a number of stakeholder organisations in the coming weeks.
