Mr Givan (The First Minister) and Mrs O’Neill (The deputy First Minister): The purpose of this Written Ministerial Statement is to inform members that the Report from the Commission on Flags, Identity, Culture and Tradition has been published today.

The Commission was tasked with addressing a range of complex and longstanding issues that have impacted our society over many years. We would like to thank the members of the Commission, and in particular the joint chairs Dr Dominic Bryan and Neville Armstrong, for their work on the Report. Under their leadership, the Commission has created a body of work across a range of issues that has clearly been the result of intensive efforts and extensive public engagement.

The former First Minister and the deputy First Minister set up a Working Group led by Junior Minister Middleton and Junior Minister Kearney to consider issues in relation to the Report, and that group will continue to work on the next steps.

A copy of the Report has been placed in the Assembly Library and is available on The Executive Office website.
