The Victims and Witnesses of Crime Bill was introduced by the Minister of Justice on 22 June 2026. The Bill completed Second Stage on 30 June 2026 and was referred to the Committee for Justice for consideration.

Long title of the Bill
A Bill to provide for the appointment and functions of the Commissioner for Victims and Witnesses of Crime for Northern Ireland; to amend the law relating to criminal evidence and procedure in cases involving aggravation by hostility, sexual offences and death or serious physical harm of a vulnerable person; and for connected
purposes.
