Inquiry into Access to Palliative Care: Lived Experience Forum
On 12 June 2025 the Committee for Health invited a number of individuals who have lived experience of accessing palliative care services (either as a carer, or a family member).
Members of the Committee heard first hand testimonies from these individuals who shared deeply personal and moving experiences. The Forum moved on to discussions around current palliative care provision and experiences of palliative and hospice services. The information gathered will be collated and used as evidence for the Inquiry.
The Committee heard from the following individuals:
- Kate McConville (pdf, 2 pages, 66Kb)
- Alan Sheppard (pdf, 6 pages, 188Kb)
- Clare Marie Passmore (pdf, 2 pages, 36Kb)
- Linda Cooper (pdf, 4 pages, 45Kb)
- Austin McCracken (pdf, 1 pages, 27Kb)
The Committee would like to thank each of the participants for their contribution, and all who attended.
