2. Declarations of Interest
There were no declarations of interest.
3. Legal Advice – Oral Briefing
The witness joined the meeting at 9:48am
Members received a briefing from:
- Rebecca Ellis, Legal Services
The witness provided the Committee with an overview of Legal Advice on inviting the First Minister, deputy First Minister and junior Ministers to the Committee.
Emma Sheerin MLA joined the meeting at 9:52am
The oral evidence was followed by a question and answer session.
The Chairperson thanked the witness for their attendance.
The witness left the meeting at 10.06am.
Agreed: The Committee agreed that they would not share the legal advice with the First Minister and deputy First Minister
Agreed: The Committee agreed that they would reiterate their invitation to the First Minister, deputy First Minister and junior Ministers to attend the Committee on 23 October 2024.
Agreed: The Committee agreed that, should the First Minister, deputy First Minister and junior Ministers accept their invitation, the other panels scheduled for 23 October would be postponed.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday 23 October 2024 at 2:00pm in Room 29, Parliament Buildings.
