Committee for the Executive Office
Inquiry into Gaps in Equality Legislation
The Committee for the Executive Office is undertaking an inquiry into differences in equality legislation between here and other regions of the UK, as well as between Northern Ireland and the EU.
The Committee launched a 12-week survey to seek a wide range of public views on this subject. The survey period opened on Monday 10 June 2024 and closed on Friday 6 September 2024. This was the first stage in gathering information for the Committee to consider.
Following the closure of this Call for Evidence, the Committee will commence oral evidence sessions from September 2024. It will consider all written and oral evidence before moving to deliberate on its draft report to the Assembly. Responses to the Call for Evidence will be published in accordance with Northern Ireland Assembly protocols.
The Committee’s inquiry will take a number of months to complete and it is expected to publish a report on its findings and recommendations in early 2025.
Further information related to the inquiry is available below.
