The Conversion Practices (Criminalisation) Bill was introduced by Eóin Tennyson MLA on 30 June 2026.
The Bill proposes a legal framework to prohibit and criminalise conversion practices aimed at changing or suppressing an individual's sexual orientation or gender identity, including through conversion therapy, coercive behaviour, or removing a person from Northern Ireland for such purposes.

The Bill passed Second Stage on Monday 28 September 2026 and Committee Stage of the Bill commenced on Tuesday 29 September 2026.
