Dear whom it may concern

At is meeting on 26 November 2020, the Committee for Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs received a briefing from the Department on the future Rural Affairs Policy and Framework Delivery.

The link to the Hansard of that meeting can be found here: https://niassembly.tv/committee-for-agriculture-environment-and-rural-affairs-meeting-thursday-19-november-2020/

The Committee heard that the Department has approached the development of the framework through ongoing dialogue and collaboration with rural organisations and it believes that local people are best placed to evaluate their needs and this process of co-design will be key to ensuring a cohesive approach to future rural policy and the evaluation of funding requirements.

While the Policy is still at an early stage, we would welcome feedback from the Local Action Groups on what has been stated by DAERA about the Policy so far.

The Committee would be keen to hear your views on the future Rural Affairs Policy and requests that you provide written evidence to the Committee by 13 January 2021 to the following email address: committee.AgriEnvRural@niassembly.gov.uk

Yours sincerely,

Stella McArdle
Clerk, Committee for Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs
