CEDAW and the Istanbul Convention: A comparative view on transposition and implementation in domestic law and practice

Synopsis: This paper is provided following a request from the Assembly Ad Hoc Committee on a Bill of Rights. It details research on the implementation of the United Nations ('UN') Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women ('CEDAW'), and provisions relating to violence against women, in domestic law. As the most relevant international treaty relating to violence against women, the Istanbul Convention is considered in particular.
