Committee Visits Ballymena to See Town Centre Regeneration

The Assembly’s Committee for Social Development today visited Ballymena where they held their weekly meeting in the Town Hall. Following a briefing from Departmental officials on the work of the High Street Taskforce, the Committee received an update from Ballymena Council officials on the progress of their Business Improvement District (BID).

Assembly Committee to Receive Urgent Briefing from Housing Executive on Maintenance Contracts

The Assembly’s Committee for Social Development will hold its weekly meeting in Coleraine Borough Council offices on Thursday 20 June 2013. Committee Members will receive a briefing from the Chairman of the Housing Executive Donald Hoodless and the Chief Executive Dr John McPeake on the recent report into the organisation’s mishandling of planned maintenance contracts.

Committee Seeks Urgent Answers on Housing Executive Contracts

The Assembly Committee for Social Development was briefed today by Donald Hoodless, the recently appointed Chairperson of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and Dr John McPeake, the Chief Executive of the Housing Executive. The meeting, focused on the recent report into the organisation’s mishandling of planned maintenance contracts which has revealed that overpayments have been made to 6 contractors totalling an estimated £18m.
