Inquiry into the Creative Industries

From scriptwriters and jewellery designers, to software developers and architects, it is estimated that the Creative Industries in Northern Ireland employs around 31,000 people. Maximising the potential of these industries and how they could be better supported is the subject of the Committee for Culture, Arts and Leisure’s first Inquiry.

Creative Industries are just that – creative. Think architecture, advertising, art, antiques, crafts, fashion and design, video, film, photography, music, performing arts, radio, TV, software development, and computer games/design. The Committee is interested in your views on what challenges you face; what funding, training and other support is needed; and what opportunities exist to grow the creative industries?

Any organisation or individual with an interest in this Inquiry is invited to submit evidence to the Committee by e-mail to committee.cal@niassembly.gov.uk or by post to:

Committee Clerk, Room 344, Parliament Buildings, Ballymiscaw, Stormont, Belfast BT4 3XX.

The evidence must be structured to address the specific terms of reference of the Inquiry.

If you do not have access to the internet or e-mail facilities or you have any other enquiries, please contact the Committee Clerk on 028 9052 1783.

The closing date for written submissions has now passed.  The Committee is currently taking oral evidence from organisations who submitted written submissions, through oral briefings and stakeholder events. The Committee will then consider all of the evidence it received before producing a Report outlining its findings and recommendations
