Financial Assistance Bill

The Clerk outlined proposed Executive amendments to the Financial Assistance Bill and the revised proposal to amend the Ministerial Code.

The Committee considered the proposed Executive amendments.

Agreed : The Committee agreed that the Chairperson would reflect the views of the members regarding each amendment in his speech during the Consideration Stage of the Bill.

Mr Shannon proposed that the Committee agree amendment number 3.

Mrs Long requested that it be noted that she did not vote on amendment number 11 as she required further clarification on the timescales in it.

The Committee considered the letter received from the First Minister and the deputy First Minister regarding an agreed Executive proposal to change paragraph 2.4 of the Ministerial Code.

Agreed: The Committee agreed to note the letter.
