APN 360 - 22/27: All Party Group on Carers

A virtual meeting of the All-Party Group (APG) on Carers has been arranged to take place on Wed 29 January 2025 at 10am using the Zoom platform.

The meeting is concentrating its discussion on carer poverty and will receive three presentations on this issue from:

  1. Carers NI via their recently published economics report from WPI, commissioned by the Carer Poverty Commission focusing on the benefits of keeping carers in employment through supportive workplace practices
  2. Angel Eyes, a charity supporting carers of children with a disability which has recently completed a study on the financial pressures of parent carers in families with a child with a disability living in NI in partnership with Queen's University Belfast.
  3. Sheffield University research on employment impacts on end of life carers in Northern Ireland commissioned by Marie Curie.

All Members are welcome to attend.
