APN 198 - 22/27: APG on Disability / AGM of APG on Sport and Physical Recreation
ALL PARTY GROUP ON DISABILITY
A remote/virtual meeting to the All-Party Group (APG) on Disability has been arranged to take place on Wednesday, 15th November, at 12pm via Zoom.
The meeting will provide an overview of the Shadow Report to the UN Follow Up to the Special Inquiry conducted in response to Welfare Reform. Current system of commodified medical assessments is fundamentally flawed and argue for an alternative approach.
Richard Machin, Senior Lecturer from Nottingham Trent University will present his research on current system of PIP assessment and outline the case for an alternative approach.
All Members are welcome to attend.
A zoom link will be emailed separately to each APG member (and, on request, to any other MLAs who wish to attend) which will provide instructions on how to join the remote/virtual meeting.
