ALL PARTY GROUP ON MENTAL HEALTH

An Annual General Meeting of the All Party Group on Mental Health to elect the office bearers has been arranged to take place on Tuesday 10 September at 12.30pm in the Senate Chamber  (lunch will be available from 12 noon).

The AGM will be followed by a discussion on mental health and wellbeing of Older People. This will focus on the issues facing older people who are affected by mental health problems and how mental wellbeing can be improved in our ageing population.

There will be short presentations from the Royal College of Psychiatrists; a Clinical Psychologist for Older People’s Services from the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust on the mental health issues affecting older people; followed by an individual’s account of their personal experiences of the everyday challenges faced by older people, in relation to their mental health problems and emotional well-being.

There will be an opportunity for MLAs, and other stakeholders present, to discuss the topic and agree positive steps to address the issues raised.

All Members are welcome to attend.
