ALL PARTY GROUP ON VISUAL IMPAIRMENT

A meeting of the All Party Group on Visual Impairment has been arranged to take place on Tuesday 19 March at 8.30am in the Senate Chamber (breakfast included). 

The focus of the meeting will be to update members on:

  • Children's Support and Education Issues for blind and partially sighted children, with representation from Mr Kieran McShane, Health & Social Care Board, Social Care Commissioning Lead; and Ms Frances Curran, Department of Education, Special Education Team.
  • NI Executive Disability Strategy/RNIB's 'Ten Times Better' Campaign

ALL PARTY GROUP ON MENTAL HEALTH

A meeting of the All Party Group on Mental Health has been arranged to take place on Tuesday 19 March at 12:30pm in the Senate Chamber.

TOPIC: Families and friends caring for a loved one with mental illness – understanding their needs

Families, partners and friends can play a vital role in the recovery of a loved one who has experienced mental illness. This session, which has been organised by CAUSE (the peer–led carers organisation) will focus on the needs of carers, the impact of caring and how carers should be supported, if the Transforming Your Care vision is to be realised.

12.40 pm        Keith Swerdlick: My role as a carer: a personal perspective

12.50 pm        Film, Anne’s Story, followed by carer, Anne Cunningham highlighting the support carers need

ALL PARTY GROUP ON EUROPEAN ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATIONS DIRECTIVES AND DECISIONS
