All Party Group on Heart Disease and Stroke
A meeting of the All Party Group on Heart Disease & Stroke has been arranged to take place on Tuesday 19 February from 8.00am to 9.45am in Room 115.
The aim of the group is to provide a forum for discussion on prevention, rehabilitation, on-going care and treatment of heart disease and stroke, between Members of the Northern Ireland Assembly, people living with these conditions, the charities working in the field, and the health professionals involved.
The theme of this meeting will focus on getting to the heart of the matter on smoking prevention – how introducing plain tobacco packaging will help save local lives. Expert speakers, including Professor Linda Bauld from the UK centre for Tobacco Control Studies, University of Stirling, will help outline the evidence for the introduction of plain or standardised packs in Northern Ireland.
All Members are welcome to attend.
