In both 2011 and 2012, the Assembly responded to all requests. If appropriate, an exemption was applied and the requestor informed of the application of the exemption under the legislation. In addition, in instances where the information was not held by the Assembly or when the information was not held by the NI Assembly and was the responsibility of another public authority, the requestor was also informed.
In 2011, the Assembly received 73 Freedom of Information requests. Of those, 66 were responded to within the 20 working day timeframe and thus 7 were late.
In 2012, the Assembly received 68 Freedom of Information requests. Of those, 59 were responded to within the 20 working day timeframe and thus 9 were late.
Since 2011, the longest period of time recorded between a request received and a response provided is 74 working days (53 working days late). This was a complex request that required extensive levels of correspondence between numerous individuals. The information in response to this request was provided in full.
Since 2011, the shortest period of time recorded between a request submitted and a response are those requests that are responded to on the same day they have been received. In instances where the information was not held by the Assembly or when the information was not held by the NI Assembly and was the responsibility of another public authority the requestor was also informed.
