Websites Accessed 1/6/13-4/9/13
In line with the Northern Ireland Assembly Retention and Disposal Policy, we retain internet access logs for six months. We have provided an analysis on the system that logs all Internet access from the PC's provided to Members, Party staff and Secretariat staff for use on the Parliament Buildings main network. Please see a list detailing the top 1000 sites for the period 01/06/2013 – 04/09/2013, inclusive, attached at Appendix A.
Please note the following:
It is not possible to differentiate between staff and Members in terms of internet activity on this network; most Members maintain a Twitter and Facebook presence; the Assembly Communications Office maintain a Twitter and Facebook presence on behalf of the NI Assembly Commission; there are Acceptable Use Policies in place for both Members, their staff and Secretariat Staff under which the Assembly Commission permits staff to use Assembly IT resources for personal use, in their own time and with the agreement of their line management, providing that such use does not -
- Have an adverse impact upon their availability to carry out their normal work;
- Compromise the security of Assembly data;
- Result in increased costs or delays; or
- Have any negative impact on the Assembly network or on the effective discharge of Assembly business.
- The facility is granted at the discretion of management and may be withdrawn at any time for operational reasons or if inappropriate use is suspected.
