Assembly Speaker to lead National Minute’s Silence

At 11am on Friday, 24 February, the Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly, Alex Maskey, will lead a National Minute’s Silence to mark the one-year anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine.
The Speaker will be joined by the Speaker of the House of Commons, the Rt Hon. Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP, the Presiding Officer of Senedd Cymru, the Rt Hon. Elin Jones AM and the Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament, the Rt Hon. Alison Johnstone MSP.

MLAs, members of the Youth Assembly and Assembly staff are also invited to participate in the minute’s silence.
