Attorney General for Northern Ireland response

Attorney General for Northern Ireland response

Thank you for your correspondence, and the earlier correspondence received from Jonathan.

We refer to Jonathan’s email dated 25 June 2021 and confirm that the Office of the Attorney General for Northern Ireland has no formal comment to make on the Financial Reporting (Departments and Public Bodies) Bill. However we would like to clarify that the Attorney General for Northern Ireland is not a public body and the title of the table attached to your email which reads “public bodies” is inaccurate and could be misleading. The Office of the Attorney General for Northern Ireland is not an NDPB but operates within the boundary of TEO under the principle of an arm’s length body to protect the independence of the Attorney General for Northern Ireland.

Kind regards

Leigh
