The Financial Reporting (Departments and Public Bodies) Bill was formally introduced to the Northern Ireland Assembly on 1 June 2021.
The Bill amends the Government Resources and Accounts Act 2001 in order to allow the Department of Finance to issue directions about the preparation of Supply Estimates and to direct that such Estimates are to include information relating to "designated bodies".
The Bill passed its Second Stage on Monday 14 June 2021 and was referred to the Committee for Finance for its Committee Stage. Assembly Committees examine Bills before they become law.
