The Committee will receive public oral briefings from Assembly Research; the Irish Congress of Trade Unions and the Department on a proposed Legislative Consent Motion for the Public Service Pensions and Judicial Offices Bill which relates to the reform of public sector pensions following the McCloud judgement.”

Defamation Bill - Call for Evidence
The Committee for Finance is currently scrutinising the Defamation Bill. The aim of the Bill is to reform the law of defamation to ensure that a fair balance is struck between the right to freedom of expression and the protection of reputation.
The Committee has put out a call for evidence and would like to hear your views.

Report on an Independent Fiscal Council for Northern Ireland
The Committee for Finance has agreed its report on an independent Fiscal Council for Northern Ireland.
Financial Reporting (Departments and Public Bodies) Bill
The Committee for Finance is currently scrutinising the draft Financial Reporting (Departments and Public Bodies) Bill.
The Financial Reporting (Departments and Public Bodies) Bill amends the Government Resources and Accounts Act 2001 in order to allow the Department of Finance to issue directions about the preparation of Supply Estimates and to direct that such Estimates are to include information relating to “designated bodies”.
