Nora Smith

Nora Smith is the Chief Executive of CO3.  CO3 – Chief Officers 3rd Sector – is a membership organisation for Third Sector leaders in Northern Ireland.

Established in 1985, CO3 is a leading membership-based organisation that focuses on supporting, developing and connecting Third Sector leaders.  Its members range from leaders of some of the largest charities and social enterprises through to small community and faith-based groups.  Members work across all policy areas and connect to all government departments.

Nora Smith holds a BA (Hons) degree in Human Resource Management and an Advanced Diploma in Management Practice. In her previous role as a Consultant with an IT based company, Nora worked with international businesses to implement a Human Resource Management system.

Nora has a deep understanding of leadership within the Third Sector, having previously worked as the Director of Policy, Operations and Human Resources with Employers For Childcare Charitable Group for four years. As a member of the Senior Management Team, she developed strong links within the private, public, community and voluntary sectors, and with a range of social enterprises.

Nora has wide experience of organisational development and management. For example she was responsible for establishing the District Policing Partnership in Dungannon & South Tyrone. She has played a significant role in the Third Sector such as her work with the NI Rural Women’s Network, where she gained considerable experience in both the rural and the women’s sectors.
