Speaker to Host Event Marking Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2026

The Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly, Edwin Poots MLA, will host a special event at Parliament Buildings on Wednesday 29 July to mark Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2026, which will take place in Belfast from 2 to 9 August.

The event will celebrate the rich musical and cultural traditions showcased by Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann and will feature performances from the Ballynafeigh Irish Dance School, members of Ards Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, and members of the Belfast Bands Forum.

Guests will also hear from the Director General of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, organisers of the annual Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann festival.

The event will highlight the unique collaboration between musicians from different traditions, including performers from Ards Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann and the Belfast Bands Forum who previously played together during the visit of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla to Belfast earlier this year.
