Assembly Speaker to Launch New Community Inititative

On Tuesday 21 May 2013, the Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly William Hay MLA will launch ‘Assembly Community Connect’ an exciting new initiative which aims to build stronger links between the Assembly and local community and voluntary sector.  

The launch will feature a series of mini talks from MLAs and local community representatives designed to explore how the Assembly and community groups can work together better. Over 200 people representing a range of voluntary and community sector groups will attend this interactive and colourful event.

Media Opportunities

There will be media opportunities for photographs and filming at the launch event as well as interviews with the Chair and Deputy Chair of Assembly Community Connect Sammy Douglas MLA and Maeve McLaughlin MLA. Media requests should be made by prior arrangement with the NI Assembly Communication Office.
